train ride

I would have to say that one of the highlights of the week for Kevin was the train ride that we took from Accra to Nsawam. It was me, Kevin and the two oldest boys that were with us (8 yrs. and 6 yrs.) It was a 4 hour ride round trip and we were able to see some of Ghana's beautiful nature! We were also able to see a train lying on its side and we were thankful that ours stayed upright throughout the entire ride.
.
Kevin met the engineer and was invited to ride in the engine for the 2 hour return trip to Accra. About 10 minutes into the return ride he came and got me and the boys and we all went up to the engine for the remainder of our ride.
.
The view from the front was much more interesting than the view from the coach! I had to laugh as we went barreling through villages and goats and people were all over the track. There were definitely a few close calls and we even hit a big bag full of something that was sitting too close to the tracks! Good old West African entertainment! And for only 80 cents each!
