this and that....

Just stopping by to share a few pictures from the past several weeks. 4 of them are just pictures around town, one is our chameleon friend and the other is Kevin in the hospital in Tsiko.

I'm not sure what to say about the donkeys. I was heading from our place to the hospital site (in Mango) and these two donkeys were just walking down the road all alone! Normally, there is someone guiding them but these must have been super smart ones because they seemed to know right where they were going!

The chameleon was found trying to cross the road and if you know anything about them you know that they are extremely slow. This one would have never made it across the road! Well, come to think of it, there are so few cars in Mango this little guy probably could have made it across safely! Anyway, we enjoyed him for a couple of hours and then put him back outside so he could go on with his life.

The store that you see is our local hardware store in Mango. They sell everything from bungee cords to cookies. Bob the Builder or Handy Manny might find this store a little lacking but we're glad it's here!

The photo that doesn't look like much is a shot of one of the main roads through town. The market is also in this area on Sundays.

For those of you who might not know, Kevin was in the hospital in Tsiko (down south) for 8 days! We spent a total of 2 weeks in Tsiko with him being sick. He was well taken care of and is doing much better now!

happy new year

Here are a few pictures from the last week or two here in Mango. Kevin spends 6 days a week on the hospital property and I spend my days mainly in the guest house. I have gone to the market a couple of times and the ladies also get together for prayer time on Thursday afternoons. On Sunday mornings we attend a Bible study group in the home of a missionary couple. Currently there are about 30 Togolese attending as well! On Sunday evenings the missionaries get together at the guest house for a service in English. We also get together on Tuesday evenings for prayer time.

Things continue to go well here and we are enjoying the "cooler" temperatures that December has to offer. We had to laugh last night as we were both covered up to our necks when I asked Kevin to get up and turn the floor fan off (it's on his side of the bed). He didn't want to get up so he turned it off with his toe. Whatever works, right? And then, this morning we learned that it was about 72 degrees last night.

It is now 12:24pm and the current temperature in the dining room is 82 degrees. We are thankful for a cool day to start the new year!
